FitSignal Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026
FitSignal is a wardrobe app with an AI stylist. It is provided by WorkSignals Tech Limited (“we”, “us”), registered in England and Wales (company number 17088377) with its registered office at Stoney Works, 8 Stoney Lane, London, SE19 3BD, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions and requests: privacy@worksignals.io.
In short
- Your wardrobe, photos, looks, chats and calendar are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers.
- When you use the stylist, the app sends what that request needs to our server, which passes it to an AI provider for the answer and does not keep it.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising, tracking or analytics tools.
What stays on your iPhone
Your items and their photos, the stylist’s descriptions of them, your looks, the chat with the stylist, your calendar and how warm you felt in a look, your style profile, your perfumes, and your city. They live in the app’s storage on your device and go when you delete the app or your account. They are included in your iPhone’s backups if you back it up.
What our server keeps
- Your account. You sign in with Apple. We keep the identifier Apple gives us for you and the token Apple issues for it. We do not ask Apple for your name or email.
- Your subscription. Your plan, when it started and ends, and the App Store’s identifiers of the purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
- Records of AI requests. For each request: its kind, the AI model, the time, its size and cost, and how many looks it built. They count your plan’s limits and our costs.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps logs of requests to the server (which function was called, when, your account’s identifier, errors) for a limited period, to keep the service working and secure. They do not contain your photos or messages.
- Perfume searches that find nothing in our catalog are counted without your account, so we know which perfumes to add.
So that an answer is not lost when the app is closed mid-request, the server holds a finished answer in memory for up to 30 minutes, then forgets it.
What the AI provider receives
Only when you use a feature that needs the AI, our server sends what that request needs to OpenAI:
- a photo of an item you add, to describe it and to draw it without its background;
- your messages to the stylist and the photos you attach to them;
- descriptions of your items and looks, your style preferences, your perfumes and the weather of your city, as the request needs them.
Under its API terms, OpenAI does not use this data to train its models; it may keep it for a limited period (up to 30 days) to detect abuse. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.
Weather and location
If you allow it, the app uses your iPhone’s location once to find the name of your city, through Apple’s geocoding on the device. Your exact location is not sent to us; the city’s name and coordinates go to our server, which gets the forecast from Open-Meteo. You can type a city instead.
Notifications
If you allow notifications when you start a free trial, the app sets a reminder on your iPhone two days before the trial ends. It is scheduled on the device; we send no push notifications.
Why we use your data
- To provide the app and the subscription you chose (performance of our contract with you).
- To enforce plan limits, prevent abuse and keep the service secure (our legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations, where they apply.
Who processes it for us
- Railway hosts our server and its database, in the European Union (the Netherlands).
- OpenAI provides the AI, in the United States.
- Open-Meteo provides the weather forecast.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and handles purchases.
Where data leaves the United Kingdom, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Your account and subscription record stay until you delete your account. When you do, the records of your AI requests lose the link to you and are kept only as anonymous totals of our costs. Technical logs are deleted by our hosting provider after a limited period.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile → Settings → Delete account. This revokes Sign in with Apple for FitSignal, deletes your account and subscription record from our server, and erases the app’s data on your iPhone. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: Apple bills it, so cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable form. Write to privacy@worksignals.io. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority where you live.
Children
FitSignal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
When this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with its date, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
